I am an Associate Professor at the University of Pisa, Department of Earth Sciences
- My research interests deal with Quaternary glacial and periglacial landforms and processes in the Mediterranean area, especially in the South-Western Alps. I am particularly interested in insighting the internal structure of these landforms to understand the mechanism of their formation and their climate-driven evolution.
- I dedicate particular care to geophysical applications (Electrical Resistivity Tomography, Ground Penetrating Radar) to mountain-hillslope landforms (rock glacier, landslide), coastal sediments (beach and aeolian dunes), and geoarchaeology.
- Some of my researches were dedicated to the tectonic geomorphology of some sectors in the Alpine region, putting together meso-structural analyses, tectonic landforms, spatial data handling, and morphometry of fluvial drainage networks.
- Other researches dealt with the coastal geomorphology of the Patagonian Atlantic coast of Argentina, with the aim of defining markers of Quaternary sea-level stationing.
I am the author of more than 90 papers on peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and Proceedings.
