Monica Bini, PhD Earth Sciences, Associate Professor of Geomorphology
My research focuses on climate change, geoarchaeology, and coastal and fluvial geomorphology, with the aim of enhancing palaeoenvironmental reconstructions and understanding human–environment interactions over time. Particular emphasis has been placed on both natural and anthropogenic climate change and their societal impacts during the Holocene. More recently, with a focus on the management of alluvial and coastal plains, my research—integrating Artificial Intelligence—has supported the development of early warning systems for floods and strategies for water resource protection.
