Mauro Tucci was in January 1981, and he graduated with a master’s degree in Automation Engineering in 2004 at the University of Pisa. He achieved the PH.D. in “Applied Electromagnetics” at the University of Pisa in 2008. In 2010 he joined the Department of Electrical Systems and Automation of the University of Pisa as Assistant Professor.
Currently he is Associate professor at Destec, Univetsity of Pisa. Since 2013 he teaches the course of “Diagnostics and Monitoring of Electrical Systems and Devices” and “Circuit Theory”.
Mauro Tucci is author and coauthor of more than 80 papers published on international journals and on the proceedings of international conferences.
A significant research interest of Mauro Tucci is in Powerline Communications (PLC). In this area a particular attention is given to in vehicle PLC technology applications, such as electric cars, ships and trains, other than indoor and outdoor systems. Research is oriented to modeling, characterization and estimation of the PLC channel, and the development of estimation techniques for OFDM systems.
Other important research areas of Mauro Tucci are neural networks, signal analysis for nondestructive testing, transmission lines, nonlinear circuit analysis and uncertain parameters systems analysis, magnetic levitation systems, evolutionary optimization algorithms, forecasting, renewable energy production plants, and wireless power transfer.
In these research fields the results obtained by Mauro Tucci have been well received by the scientific community, and are published on several international journals.
Mauro Tucci received the “Young Researcher Price” from the University of Pisa in 2011 and 2013.
Since 2018 he is IEEE Senior Member, and he serves as associate editor for IEEE Access Journal.
He was Technical Program Chair of ACES (Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society) Conference 2017.
He is member of the Editorial Board of the International Conference on Railway Technology: Research, Development and Maintenance, in 2014, 2016 and 2018. In these conferences he organised a special session entitled “Advanced Diagnostics, Monitoring and Modelling of Railway Systems Electric Components”.
