Short Academic Presentation

Dr. Andrea Cesari is currently Junior Assistant Professor (RTDa) in Organic Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry (DCCI) of the University of Pisa.

Dr. Cesari received Bachelor’s Degree in “Chemistry” (2014) at the University of Pisa with a thesis entitled “Iridium organometallic complexes as potential anticancer agents”. He continued his studies at the University of Pisa achieving a Master’s Degree in “Organic Chemistry” (2017, 110/110 with honors) with a thesis entitled “Synthesis, characterization and mucoadhesivity of modified chitosans and their nanostructured aggregates”. He defended his PhD thesis in “Chemistry and Material Sciences” (2021, University of Pisa) working on “The role of NMR spectroscopy in the rationalization of materials properties”. During his period at the University of Pisa he has won 2 scholarships for continuing his studies. After winning a Post Doc research fellow position within AIRC (Associazione Italiana per la Ricerca sul Cancro) project entitled “Nanoparticle-Based Receptors for Catecholamine Profiling in Diagnosis and Prognosis of Neuroblastoma”, he moved to the Department of Chemical Sciences (University of Padova) under the supervision of Prof. F. Mancin (2021-2023).

Dr. Cesari is an organic chemist and NMR spectroscopy specialist; his projects and interests are mainly focused on the pharmaceutical technology and cancer research fields, with a focus on stimuli responsive drug delivery systems, nanotechnology, molecular recognition and supramolecular chemistry.
