RESEARCH INTERESTS

National accounts topics:

  • distributional national accounts
  • measurement of the hidden economy
  • satellite accounts for culture (in collaboration with IRPET).

Other official statistics related topics:

  • fuzzy employment and unemployment rates
  • environmental adjusted measure of agricultural productivity
  • quantitative measures of local welfare systems
  • innovativeness of business economy sectors.

Research using ad hoc collected data:

  • Economic well-being of families and workers living in Tuscany (in collaboration with IRES Toscana)
  • Developing quantitative measures of street-level bureaucracy, based on data from the Almadia PRIN 2022 project (see RESEARCH page)

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES
1996-2006: Researcher at the Italian national institute of statistics (ISTAT)– Production of national accounts estimates, responsable of research on satellite accounts (social accounting matrices, satellite accounts for culture) and on the matching of micro statistics of income and consumption expenditure in the national accounts framework.
From October 2020 until October 2023: Statistical Officer at EUROSTAT, Luxembourg – Responsible for the validation of quarterly and annual non-financial sector accounts for a selection of European countries; contributing to research on distributional national accounts; leading the research project for improving the quality of remittance estimation across European countries.
