My name is Stefano Marchetti and I have a PhD in Applied Statistics from the University of Florence, Italy. Currently, I am Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Management, University of Pisa, Italy. I teach Statistics and my research interests focus mainly on small area model-based estimation. In particular, I’m interested in M-quantile approach to small area estimation, resampling methods and poverty mapping. Recently, I’m working on the use of Big Data for small area estimation.
When I am not working, I like to go to mountains for hiking, skiing, doing down-hill or biking. I like also in-door activities, building models, reading, watching TV series and movies. I share all these activities with my wife Francesca and my son Orlando.
