Awards and Peer recognitions

2023   Senior membership, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE): https://www.ieee.org/membership/senior/. Senior IEEE membership represents an elevated professional status recognizing individuals with substantial experience and accomplishments in the field of engineering. Senior Membership grade is held by only eight percent of IEEE’s approximately 428,000 members.

2018   Recipient of the Rita Levi Montalcini grant by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research. This competitive program is awarded every 12-24 months on the basis of a groundbreaking, novel and innovative research project to young Italian and foreign scientists of all disciplines with an excellent track record who have obtained their Ph.D. or equivalent degree within the last six years and have been working at a foreign university for at least three years.

2018   Fellowship, The Obesity Society (TOS). The TOS Fellowship is a distinguished honor recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of obesity research and treatment. TOS is the leading professional society focused on obesity science, treatment, and prevention.

2016   Fellows Award for Research Excellence (FARE), National Institutes of Health (NIH). This award is a prestigious recognition given to early-career researchers for their outstanding contributions to scientific research within the NIH community.

2016   Winner of The Obesity Society (TOS) Basic Science Section poster competition, New Orleans, LA, USA. This award is given to the scientist whose research poster in the field of obesity science is judged to be the most outstanding among the submissions to the TOS Annual Meeting, the largest and most important international scientific meeting in the world dedicated to the study and treatment of obesity.

2012   Fellowship, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), USA. This prestigious fellowship is granted to outstanding postdoctoral scientists and clinicians, enabling them to engage in cutting-edge biomedical research within the renowned and diverse research environment at the NIDDK.
