Maura Benegiamo is a researcher at the Department of Political Science, University of Pisa. She has conducted research on environmental conflicts, extractivism, agrarian development and land grabbing in in Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Central America. Her current areas of interest and research projects include political and decolonial ecologies, capitalist transformations in the context of socio-ecological crises, risk governance and just transition. She recently published the book “La terra dentro il capitale. Conflitti, crisi ecologica e sviluppo nel delta del Senegal” by Orthotes (Italy), an English version titled “Land, Capital and Extractive Frontiers” is foreseen by Bristol University Press in 2024.
