I enjoy engaging with people and younger generations to spread the word of science, reason why I have been a registered STEM Ambassador during the time spent in the UK.
Together with my former colleagues Russ Wakeham and Mike Warwick, I co-created the outreach project Recycling Carbon, aimed at displying the concept of carbon dioxide capture, utlisation and storage. The project has involved several people between 2017 and 2019, being presented at various venues, such as the Swansea Science Festival and the first edition of Pint of Science held in Swansea, in 2018.

The experience of Recycling Carbon has also led to writing a paper entitled “Recycling Carbon: An Outreach Activity Designed to Introduce the General Public to Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage”, which is avalable open access on ChemRxiv.
Recycling Carbon – An illustrated story
In 2019, I have teamed up with my talented wife to create an illustrated booklet that promotes the concept behind Recycling Carbon in a format appealing to younger generations.
Besides printing hard copies of the booklet to be distributed during outreach events, we have decided to make it freely available to download in pdf format:
