My research activity mainly consists in the application of Solid-State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (SSNMR) methods to a variety of materials, including: pharmaceuticals, porous materials, materials for the production of clean energy, photo-active materials, elastomers for the tyre industry, nanomaterials, materials in cultural heritage.
The aspects investigated involve structure at the nanometric scale (chemical, conformational, spatial arrangement of the molecules within phase domains, interfaces), interactions between molecules, and dynamics of the molecules or molecular fragments.
NMR experimental and data analysis methods have being developed: the most recent interests rely on the development of operando, under illumination SSNMR for the study of photo-active materials and in the improvement of methods of analysis for the obtainment of dynamic information from nuclear spin relaxation measurements.
More detailed information will be available soon at the web site of the SolStICE NMR group.
