I’m full professor at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa.
I teach Physical Chemistry and Spectroscopy at the Bachelor’s Degree course of Chemistry and at the Master’s Degree courses of Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, and Materials & Nanotechnology.
I lead the Solid-State NMR group (SolStICE NMR) and I’m scientific responsible for the high-resolution Solid-State NMR spectrometers of the Centre for Instrumental Sharing of the University of Pisa (CISUP).
I’m co-author of about 170 publications on international journals, more than 60 invited lectures and more than 500 poster or oral communications to national and international conferences.
I co-authored, together with Klaus Müller, the book “Solid State NMR: Principles, Methods, and Applications”, published by Wiley VCH in 2021.
I have been and continue to be the scientific lead on several industry-funded contracts for investigations of pharmaceuticals and materials by solid-state NMR techniques.
I’m a member of the Doctoral Board in Chemistry and Material Science (DSCM).
I’m serving as member of the board of the Physical-Chemistry Division of the Società Chimica Italiana.
I served as President (2017-2022) and as member of the board (2008-2013) of the Italian Discussion Group of Magnetic Resonances (GIDRM).
I’m research associate at ICCOM-CNR of Pisa.
I received the GIDRM/GIRM Gold Medal in 2015.
