Prospective MSc and PhD students
I am always interested in supervising strong, motivated students at MSc and PhD level. Should you be interested in applying, please feel free contact me: giacomo.bacci@unipi.it. Please also check the dedicated tabs for current research and project activities I’m involved in.
For Ph.D. students, please check here to get some information on how to enroll in the PhD program of the University of Pisa, and here to get some insights on the PhD program on Information Engineering.
Currently available M.Sc. theses
- Cell-free MIMO satellite networks: design and setup of a demo platform with software-defined radio (SDR) devices, with a possible collaboration with other M.Sc students and possible integration with a channel emulator offered by the Politecnico of Bari
- Development of machine-learning techniques, for resource allocation in cell-free MIMO networks
- Development of optimization techniques for directional modulation, with application to satellite-based communication and positioning systems
- Integrated sensing, communication and computing: design and setup of a demo platform to show the potential of this paradigm, with a possible collaboration with other M.Sc students working in antenna, sensing, and computation fields
- Signal processing for satellite communications: investigation of antenna array design for (B)5G terrestrial/non-terrestrial integrated networks (with possible secondment at the European Space Agency, The Netherlands)
Postdoctoral researchers
I have occasional opening for postdoctoral researchers, which will be announced here. However, you may consider applying for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship.
Should you be interested in applying, please feel free contact me: giacomo.bacci@unipi.it. Please also check the dedicated tabs for current research and project activities I’m involved in.
Visiting faculty
If you are interested in visiting the Department of Information Engineering for a short-term research stay, we can offer limited financial support. Please check this website, and feel free to get in touch with me: giacomo.bacci@unipi.it
