The VU Amsterdam and Nikhef have a fully-funded 4-year PhD position available as part of the 6D-isolator project.
The position is funded by the ERC Consolidator grant ‘OmniSens’, and you will join a team of 5 people in this challenging project. The 6D isolator combines laser-interferometer sensors with a glass-fibre suspension and an active isolation platform. You will work as a team on the experiment, and your position will have a special focus on the vibration requirements of the 3rd generation observatory the Einstein Telescope.
