Beatrice Aruanno is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering at the University of Pisa.

She earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2020, with a thesis on the development of an active hand exoskeleton and an AI-based virtual assistant for home rehabilitation therapy.

From 2020 to 2024, she was a Research Fellow working on the design of biometric data acquisition systems for virtual reality applications, as part of the H2020 project PRIME-VR2. In 2024, she became a Tenure Track Researcher (RTT) in the field of Design and Methods of Industrial Engineering (IIND-03/B).

She currently teaches Virtual and Physical Prototyping and co-teaches Industrial Technical Drawing and Digital Methods for Design and Manufacturing.

Her research focuses on Extended Reality (XR) technologies and innovative Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) methods, with results presented in numerous international journals and conferences.
