Nel 2004 ha conseguito il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Linguistica delle Lingue Moderne con una tesi dal titolo\u00a0\u201c<em>I reckon I know how Leonardo da Vinci must have felt\u2026<\/em> A Lexical Semantic Study of English Verbs of Cognitive Attitude\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Nel 2006 ha conseguito l&#8217;abilitazione all&#8217;insegnamento della lingua e letteratura inglese nella scuola secondaria di primo e secondo grado presso la SSIS Toscana (VI ciclo).<\/p>\n<p>Ha seguito corsi di formazione e perfezionamento post-laurea in linguistica generale, linguistica inglese e glottodidattica presso istituti nazionali e internazionali, tra cui la LOT Summerschool della Universit\u00e0 di Utrecht, la Fondazione Mitteleuropa Stiftung di Bolzano, la\u00a0presso International Center for Semiotic and Cognitive Studies dell&#8217;Universit\u00e0 di San Marino e i corsi presso la University of Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>Dal 2004 al 2006 e poi nuovamente nel 2010-2011, \u00e8 stata assegnista di ricerca presso il Centro Linguistico di Ateneo dove si \u00e8 occupata di acquisizione di lingua seconda e straniera.<\/p>\n<p>Dal 2002 ad oggi, ha partecipato a numerosi progetti di ricerca, tra cui\u00a0 i PRIN \u201cOnline Language and Translation\u201d, \u201cGlossari, Dizionari, Corpora: Lessicologia e Lessicografia delle Lingue Europee\u201d e \u201cKnowledge Dissemination across media in English: continuity and change in discourse strategies, ideologies, and epistemologies: a research project of national interest\u201d, il progetto internazionale \u201cMETBIB &#8211; The online <em>Bibliography of Metaphor and Metonymy\u201d <\/em>(John Benjamins Publishing Company), e il progetto di Ateneo \u201cEfficienza pragmatica e comprensione di testi in L1 e L2 in giovani adulti normolettori e dislessici\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0\u00c8 inoltre stata coordinatrice dell&#8217;unit\u00e0 di Pisa per\u00a0il progetto internazionale di revisione dei descrittori del Quadro Europeo \u201cCEFR Extended Set of Illustrative Descriptors: Focus on Mediation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Ha collaborato all&#8217;organizzazione di numerosi convegni, seminari e giornate di studio nazionali e internazionali come membro del comitato organizzativo e\/o scientifico, quali:\u00a0<em>L\u2019acquisizione delle lingue straniere nell\u2019adulto<\/em>\u00a0(2014),\u00a0<em>English for Specific Purposes and Tourism Discourse<\/em>\u00a0(2014),\u00a0<em>CLIL: perch\u00e9? per chi? come? Promuovere i talenti dei dislessici all&#8217;Universit\u00e0<\/em>, 2016<em>)<\/em>, e l&#8217;Universit\u00e0 di Trento (<em>Seminario Associazione Italiana di Anglistica\u00a0 Cultures, Literatures, and Languages in the Contact Zones<\/em>, 2017).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dal 2012 al 2017 ha svolto la sua attivit\u00e0 di ricerca e didattica presso l&#8217;Universit\u00e0 di Pisa come Ricercatore Universitario e da novembre 2017 \u00e8 di ruolo presso lo stesso Ateneo come Professore Associato.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c8 membro del Consiglio del Centro Linguistico di Ateneo, del Centro per l&#8217;aggiornamento, la formazione e la ricerca educativa (CAFRE), del Teaching and Learning Centre dell&#8217;Universit\u00e0 di Pisa, del Centro Interdipartimentale Pisa Neuroscience e del Consiglio del Dottorato di Ricerca in Discipline Linguistiche e Letterature Straniere e del Consiglio del Dottorato di Ricerca in Discipline Linguistiche, Letterature Straniere e Studi Italianistici. Nel 2016 e 2017 \u00e8 stata rappresentante dei Ricercatori Universitari nella Giunta del Dipartimento di Filologia, Letteratura e Linguistica e nel triennio 2020-2023 ha fatto parte della Giunta del Dottorato DiLLeS per cui ha svolto le funzioni di segretaria. Dal 2024 \u00e8 responsabile per la Terza Missione del Centro Linguistico, delegata per l&#8217;inclusione del Dipartimento di Filologia, membro della commissione per l&#8217;assicurazione della qualit\u00e0 e della commissione orario. Dirige il percorso di formazione iniziale dei docenti delle scuole secondarie di primo e secondo grado per la Classe AB22 (Lingua inglese).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tiene corsi di lingua e traduzione inglese presso i CdS in Lingue e Letterature Straniere, Scienze del Turismo, Scienze della Formazione Primaria e Scienze del Servizio Sociale. Ha svolto seminari per gli studenti del Dottorato in Discipline Linguistiche e Letterature Straniere. Ha, inoltre, ideato e implementatoil corso di lingua inglese per apprendenti con dislessia evolutiva presso il Centro Linguistico di Ateneo in collaborazione con la dott.ssa Sabrina Noccetti e i CEL del Centro.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dal 2012 ad oggi ha seguito come primo relatore oltre 50 tesi di laurea gi\u00e0 discusse ed \u00e8 stata supervisore di una tesi dottorale sulla risoluzione anaforica in giovani adulti con dislessia evolutiva in inglese L1 e L2 (dott.ssa Nicoletta Simi) e di una tesi dottorale sull&#8217;ironia (dott. Alessandro Aru).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ha pubblicato due monografie e articoli scientifici in riviste nazionali e internazionali. In 2001, she obtained the DITALS certification (Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language) with honors and was a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago, where she taught Italian as a foreign language. In 2004, she obtained a Ph.D. in Linguistics of Modern Languages with a thesis titled &#8220;I reckon I know how Leonardo da Vinci must have felt\u2026 A Lexical Semantic Study of English Verbs of Cognitive Attitude&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>In 2006, she obtained the teaching qualification for English language and literature in Italian secondary education.<\/p>\n<p>She attended post-graduate courses in general linguistics, English linguistics, and language teaching methodologies at national and international institutions, including the LOT Summerschool at Utrecht University, the Mitteleuropa Stiftung Foundation in Bolzano, the International Center for Semiotic and Cognitive Studies at the University of San Marino, and courses at the University of Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>From 2004 to 2006 and again in 2010-2011, she was a research fellow at the University Language Centre, where she investigated second and foreign language acquisition.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2002, she has participated in numerous research projects, including the National Research Projects &#8220;Online Language and Translation,&#8221; &#8220;Glossaries, Dictionaries, Corpora: Lexicology and Lexicography of European Languages,&#8221; and &#8220;Knowledge Dissemination across media in English: continuity and change in discourse strategies, ideologies, and epistemologies: a research project of national interest.&#8221; She also contributed to the international project &#8220;METBIB &#8211; The online Bibliography of Metaphor and Metonymy&#8221; (John Benjamins Publishing Company) and she contributed to design and carry out research for the project &#8220;Pragmatic efficiency and textual comprehension in L1 and L2 in young adults with typical reading and dyslexia.&#8221; She has coordinated the Pisa unit for the international project to revise the descriptors of the European Framework &#8220;CEFR Extended Set of Illustrative Descriptors: Focus on Mediation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She has contributed to the organization of numerous national and international conferences, seminars, and study days as a member of the organizing and\/or scientific committee. These include events like &#8220;Acquisition of Foreign Languages in Adults&#8221; (2014), &#8220;English for Specific Purposes and Tourism Discourse&#8221; (2014), &#8220;CLIL: why? for whom? how?&#8221; (2015), &#8220;The Tourist Guide as a Meeting Place between Vocabulary and Images of Cultural Heritage&#8221; (2015), &#8220;Dyslexia and English Language Learning&#8221; (2015), &#8220;International Conference Special Needs in a Multimodal World: Research and Practice in Higher Education (snemHE17)&#8221; (2017), &#8220;Dyslexia from a Linguistic Perspective: From Sentence to Text&#8221; (2017), &#8220;Inclusive Practices in Teaching Languages to Students with Learning Difficulties&#8221; (2017), and more. In 2024 she co-chaired, with Prof. Silvia Bruti and Prof. Istvan Kecskes, the 10th International Conference on Intercultural Pragmatics and Communication.<\/p>\n<p>She has presented at national and international conferences and has been invited to give talks at Italian and foreign universities and institutions, including the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa (book presentation, 2008), the M\u00e1ster en Estudios Ingleses y Comunicaci\u00f3n Multiling\u0171e e Intercultural and the Departamento de Filolog\u00eda Inglesa, Francesa y Alemana at the University of Malaga (2012), the University of Salento (2016), the University of Modena (IX Seminar on the topics of developmental dyslexia in adults, 2016), the University of Siena (Seminar &#8220;No life is tiny. Promoting the talents of dyslexic individuals at the University,&#8221; 2016), the University of Trento (Seminar of the Italian Association of Anglistics &#8220;Cultures, Literatures, and Languages in the Contact Zones,&#8221; 2017), and the Irish Association of Applied Linguistics (2022).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>From 2012 to 2017, she worked at the University of Pisa as a Researcher, and since November 2017, she has held a permanent position as an Associate Professor at the same institution.<\/p>\n<p>She is a member of the Council of the University Linguistic Center, the Center for Updating, Training, and Educational Research (CAFRE), the Interdepartmental Centre Pisa Neuroscience, the Univerisity of Pisa Teacher and Learning Centre, and the Council of the Doctoral Program in Linguistic Disciplines and Foreign Literatures, as well as the Board of the PhD Programme in Linguistic Studies, Foreign Literatures and Italian Studies. In 2016 and 2017, she was the representative of University Researchers in the Board of the Department of Philology, Literature, and Linguistics, and since December 2020, she has been a member of the Board of the DiLLeS Doctorate and serves as a secretary. Since 2024 she has been Coordinator for Public Engagement and Knowledge Transfer at the University Language Centre, Departmental Delegate for the Inclusion of Students with Special Educational Needs, and a member of the Department\u2019s Quality Assessment Committee and Scheduling Committee.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial;font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif\">In 2016 and 2017, she served as the representative of university researchers on the Executive Committee of the Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics.
