Biography<\/strong><\/h4>\n

I received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in telecommunications engineering and the Ph.D. degree in information engineering from the University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy, in 2002, 2004, and 2008, respectively. From 2006 to 2007, I was a visiting student research collaborator with Princeton University<\/a>, Princeton, NJ, USA. From 2008 to 2014, I was a post-doctoral research fellow with the University of Pisa<\/a>. From 2008 to 2012, I was also a software engineer with Wiser Srl<\/a>, Livorno, Italy, and, from 2012 to 2014, I was also enrolled as a visiting post-doctoral research associate with Princeton University. From 2015 to 2021, I was a product manager for interactive satellite broadband communications at MBI Srl<\/a>, Pisa, Italy. Since 2022, I joined the University of Pisa, where I am now an associate professor. Since 2023, I am a Senior Member of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI)<\/a> and, since 2024, I am a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I am the recipient of the FP7 Marie Curie International Outgoing Fellowships for career development (IOF) 2011 GRAND-CRU<\/a>, the Best Paper Award from the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC) in 2013, the Best Student Paper Award from the International Waveform Diversity and Design Conference (WDD) in 2007, the Best Session Paper at the ESA Workshop on EGNOS Performance and Applications in 2005, and the 2014 URSI Young Scientist Award. I was also named as an Exemplary Reviewer 2012 for IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, and as an Exemplary Editor 2024 and 2025 for IEEE Communications Letters.<\/p>\n
