{"id":10,"date":"2015-04-08T11:14:27","date_gmt":"2015-04-08T09:14:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/people.unipi.it\/cloner\/?page_id=10"},"modified":"2018-12-28T15:56:47","modified_gmt":"2018-12-28T14:56:47","slug":"ricerca","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/people.unipi.it\/gabriele_pannocchia\/ricerca\/","title":{"rendered":"Reaserch"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Main research interests<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>My\u00a0research activity embraces the fields of process systems modeling and analysis, control engineering, numerical optimization and analysis.\u00a0Applications range from industrial process and energy systems to biomedical and robotic systems.\u00a0In particular, current\/recent research projects are\/were focused on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Theory, design and implementation of optimization-based control systems (MPC)<\/li>\n<li>Control performance monitoring techniques for MPC<\/li>\n<li>Multivariable systems identification for industrial process systems<\/li>\n<li>Efficient numerical algorithms for real-time optimization-based control systems<\/li>\n<li>Distributed modeling, optimization and control of large-scale dynamical systems<\/li>\n<li>Numerical optimization algorithms for\u00a0Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems<\/li>\n<li>Trajectory planning and numerical optimal control, with focus on model predictive control (MPC), for robotic manipulation and locomotion;<\/li>\n<li>Rigorous simulation, analysis and optimization of complex industrial processes and energy systems;<\/li>\n<li>Numerical analysis and solution algorithms for high-fidelity dynamic simulation of multiphase (oil &amp; gas) flow networks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 8\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>The research activity is carried out within the Chemical Engineering Section of the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering of the University of Pisa, also in collaboration with researchers of prestigious international universities such as the University of Wisconsin (Madison, WI, USA), Imperial College (London, UK), Ruhr Universit\u00e4t Bochum (Germany), University of Magdeburg (Germany), University of Manchester (UK). Moreover, several research projects are carried out in collaboration with industrial partners, such as ENEL Engineering and Research, ENEL Green Power, ENI Refining &amp; Marketing, General Electric (Oil &amp; Gas), TEA Sistemi, Gas &amp; Heat.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Awards<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 9\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<ol>\n<li>Keynote
